Hi,
Does anyone know of any interesting medieval series? Something similar to eragon, or the phenix rising trilogy? Please do not mention lord of the rings or harry potter. Harry potter is not medieval, and I've read lord of the rings more times than I can count. Something like xena: warrior princess? Oh, just one more thing, I really do not like game of thrones.

The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell. The first book is The Last Kingdom and I believe it is on bookshare.

Eragon borrows partly from Raymond E Fayest's Magician series (over 20 books or so) for the dragon riders. The dragon rider(s) in the series are not the main focus though. It is a story of a kitchen boy who becomes a powerful magician. its premise if not its scope are similar to Eragon.

Eragon also borrows from the Dragon Riders of Pern series. Dragon Flight is the first and is both on BARD and Bookshare.

Why do you not like A song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones). Is it the lack of magic or the grittiness (Sex/violence/swearing etc) or is it something different entirely? Knowing that information I could make further recommendations.
